it's been such a long time since i had a section talk with everyone.
during the bandcamp, i realised that our section is a lot more bonded now than it was before.
our section has also improved!
however, we still have a lot x9458641246861561 more to improve on.

hmmm....here are some things the seniors said yesterday yeah:
1.Stop complaining! -no time->we all only have 24 hours a day rite? i don't give birth to an extra hour rite?all of us are in this together, i also don't have time to do hw or sleep rite?
-very tired->after stand down u all have more time to sleep.so DON'T COMPLAIN!
-band time very long
-want quit band-> only losers quit half way.quiting is only a to run away.you all think if u go green club or library den can slack meh?also nid plant plants for special events rite?(mothers' day, valentine day)
2.Stop being complacent!
-Don't think you all can play a few notes or bars that others cannot then start thinking that u are better than others then stop coming for sectionals.OH BY THE WAY,when u all come for self-practice, it means that u all coming for SECTIONALS.Don't say that "i going self- practice, so later i practice myself. Don't call me join the sectional." SERIOUSLY, thats suuuuuupppperrrr SELFISH.If 1 cannot play welll,it means that all of us must help that person.WE are a section, a group, not some strangers just playing the same instrument!

3.Don't TALK or MOVE when Mr Samad or anyone is talking in front!
-don't keep your clarinet
-don't talk when there's nothing important
-20 pumpings if u are caught talking irrelevant topics!
4.Sit PROPERLY!
-From now on, if i see anyone slouching or legs not placed properly on the floor, you owe me 20 pumping!

5.SMS US ASAP!
-If the seniors or who ever smses you all, send back the sms BY THAT DAY!

6.TAKE INITIATIVE!
-help people among the section!
-if you see someone struggling with the notes, help him or her! Even if you don't know what to do, just give encouragement and go ask the others!

7.SECTIONAL OUTING!<:
There will be 2 sectional outings this time round, one during the exam period after step down and one during the june holidays. the june holidays one u all really nid to spare a day to discuss together where to go, when to go, who bring wat and so on... The one during the exam period will be the section studying(in library or under someone's void deck)then we go watch movie:maybe we going to watch KICKASS　HERO or something lidat.PLEASE COME,IF YOUR PARENTS DON'T ALLOW,WE WILL THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE.

8.SECTION LUNCH!
MOST of us have lessons even after school rite?so section lunch will start most probably during the june holidays. I think the practices will start early in the morning, so i think we sectional lunch or breakfast.for breakfast,it will be at mac or KFC. For lunch, we can eat anywhere, but MUST be halal.

Oh, since we live in Singapore, everyone is equal. So therefore, we should not practice biasedness. Agreed? Yes. Right now, i really have nothing to update this blog. -Concert Bb ( C Major ) has no sharps and no flats.
Starts from middle c and ends with high c.

-Concert C ( D Major ) has C# and F#

Hey people! Don't be sad after reading jonard's post below. :)
( * PS/ I'm over the matter and don't have anything to ask. )

Alif talked to the SLs that day and he did mention some rules that you all need to follow ah. For example:

- No using of handphones
- Ask permission for everything
- No talking
- Close mouth when yawning ( In case some fly flies in, but that's so impossible. )
- No sweet drinks in band room
- No drinking of sweet drinks before playing ( Which means = rinse your mouth. )

Work on your basics okay!
Oh, and those who failed Mr. Samad's audition/test/etc, good luck for tomorrow.
( Even though you have to stand on the "stage" and play, but HAHAHA! )

I'm really pissed off alrdy and cant take it in anymore. for whoever that is emotionally unstable, get a box of tissue.

This is what Mr Samad(dunno spell correctly or not) want, not i wan. not Jiaying, not Amira, not Jing Rong, not anyone but Mr Samad. But some of this things we really buay tahan(cannot take it) anymore

-Discipline must be maintened
-Dun yawn
-no usage of phone
-ask permission whether u wan go out, drink, pee or watever shit
-stop depending on seniors. they wont be there or here all the time
-no sweet drinks allowed in the band room. after drinking or eating rinse ur mouth before playing ur instrument.
-no doing of other stuff, homework or anything or even talking.

Dorothy. not only me, but nearly everyone in band is freaking irritated wif u. STOP GIVING UR YAYA PAPAYA ATTITUDE. if u think ure good, prove it and not go arnd boasting "I got into bass clarinet because i have long fingers" bass clarinet does not requires long finger. this yr sec 2,3,4 batch all can ply equally well. not only u. wat i call good is whn a senior throw u one side and u learn everthing on ur own without assistance. u may think its impossible but one senior did tat. she is LEE SU XIAN. she has been in bass cl, baritone sx, and tenor sx. i dun think she had been getting help frm anybody at all. she work her way up without ppl assisting her. tats wat i call good. pls la, there is one word wat u call "HUMBLE" and it is the solution to improvement.

there is still a dozens of things i still wan to say and jiaying wans to. ask urself, hav u REALLY REALLY REALLY puting in effort? ask urself, no one wans a answer to this, deep inside u noe it urself. the answer of this question lies inside urself and no one can see nor noe wat u thinking.

Hello My Dear Section!

Firstly, I want to really say how proud i am today of the section.

I went back today and tho the section overall still dont sound nice.
Hmm, fact okay, needa tell uall sme truth.
I dont want lie to make youall happy.

But what made me really proud was that you all tried your very best.
So much so that i can see your effort before my eyes.

Even when jiaying was sick and youall are sidereading and youall have not enough senior manpower, youall rly tried.

Esp AMIRA!
Omg, you are my pride okay. I literally went around emphasising to people tht you re my junior and tht you can play rly well with a superb sound! Your volume was exactly as loud as jiaying's! Im seriously super super proud. Your sound so sdbsdikjbjsdbvkjbdws nice. And you strain yourself to play loud till i can see ur veins at the side. I feeel myself really swelling w pride when i see you play. Really, thank you for making my day. Im rly proud of you. Keep up the goood work okay! See, even mr chew complimented ur sound. Its not easy to play loud and maintain tht sound. I not lying, its really dfbgjbdfikw nice! God, all of you re overtaking me alr. Remember maintain it that way, even when jiaying is around okay! You'll make sucha difference in the section!

Yepyep! I can see your effort every bit as well also. I see ur face going all reeeeeed! Ahaaah. Thanks for helping jiaying keep the section up as welll! Be a great bsm! Train the sec 1 bass cl real well! And be a awesome clarinettist yourself! I knw u re alr! Oh, and, do sustain mre notes. Start w low notes uh! Dont short cut to high notes. Sustaining low notes will help ur high notes get real nice! Thats why people who go to third stand always have their sound improved very quickly!

Whooooooooo! I saw u play ur true strength today! I can hear you yknw! Continue that way okay! And not because you see me ask u go louder uh! You knw u can. And try to cope more btw band and ur normal life okay! Its your year in band! Sec 3 leh! I know you can do it! Explain to your parents! And all will be fine. Rmbr to sustain notes uh! You promised! And brush up on ur techniques also. Your fingerings. Dont blur! Yeap, help the section get a great sound and climb up to the top again!

Thanks for trying to play in full band. Thats how it shld be! Even if you all just played the beginning lil G note, it still means you tried and played! Slowly you'll be able to play 2 notes. Then 3 notes. And eventually, the whole song. I knw u all can do it! I believe in clarinettists! So, I place all my trust in you sec 1s and i wna see ur batch soar in the sky! Whoa, exaggerating but yeah! And and, sustain ur notes! Btw, sustaining means 40 sec AT LEAST, not just 5, 6 seconds per note!

okay cl section (: sorry i cnt make it to sch today. as in i wore class tee and fbt shorts plus slippers. i did research okay. shiwei say can one -.- ask that fatty securityguard. okay nvm (: so i say what i want to say to you all here. i think its better as in in here i cnt flare up. =x and as the section always need a devil to scold the section and wake them up, i shall be the one and always.

PS/ you know, when chew went throught the new song, the trust me singapore, he asked for 2nds, 3rds, and 2nd trumpets. Jonard was out taking Ms chen's call. Guess what i heard. I hear the 2nds, playing the first note and get lost. While on the other hand, dorothy played the whole 2 bars without any problem. I was shocked, and i just had to compliment her on that. Seriously. Think lah.

AMIRA:can be heard but nid to kinda strain abit but still at least HEARDABLE
HIDAYAH:strong player, i can see u walking fareha's road as a band member. you seriously is fareha number two
ZIEXIAN:great leap in improvement, sound more in tune as before but u nid to go louder

CAIWEI:u know ur basics well and simply able to say no mistakes up to now. gd job
DOROTHY:u know ur basics quite well too but dun be dominant and complacent juz becoz u noe a thing or two.
JIANLIANG:i dunno whether izzit u went overseas or sth, u seemed to hav deproved frm ur standard before.
REBECCA:how many times did we say, embrochure wrong, ure not allowed to puff ur cheeks and u play and tongue properly, this few practices we didnt say u air-tongued doesnt mean we forgotten abt it, bring home instrument and sustain.
SABRINA:know ur basics well too and able to ply well also.
SIHUI:know ur basics well but u nid to ply confidently
TONGXIN:dun keep sms during full band, tell ur boyfren or whoever u smsing tat ure having CCA, CCA is CCA, social life is social life, they are seperated. nvr balance ur clarinet on the floor, it may fall anytime and the punishment is 100 pumpings. but overall ure improving fast.

TO ALL SEC 1s: i noe this is the age whereby u still shy among girls and guys but pls for the sake human mankind, dun clique arnd in ur own small little groups and villages but also to bond wif other members as well, before i make uall hug wif each other

S.E.R.I.O.U.S.

The last time we had a section talk was last week or last last, yes. In that talk, i did mention about the softness and the unplayablity of our section, but it seemed that most of you, come in from one ear, go out from another. No, it's suppose to stay inside whether you like it or not. You all gave me the smiley face, but i really meant what i said that day and it took me very long to write it all down. But you all, just didn't want to listen uh. I said that there wasn't any fareha feliciatan feliciatoh alif for you to hide behind anymore. Did you all forget that already? So, i wrote another one, yesterday, the day before band camp. I put in alot of effort in this okay, it's like 8pages, A5 sized.

Recap of today. And i really wish you all won't forget, like you all did.
Firstly, the sec1s told me that our section is soft, and we talk alot without doing any work, and obviously, very slack. As you all can see, even the sec1s are able to give me such an answer, what about you guys? Think about it lah!

As i went on with i had to say:

Ask youselves, have you all ever thought about band everyday? I confirm, no right? Well, for some of us, yes we do. Everyday, everynight, every minute, every second. And have you guys thought about our section? Have you all done your part? Esp. SL of the section.

Yes, you all are tired. I know that. But i need to ask you, who isn't? Have you all thought about the people who made the effort to do stuffs? Everytime i came up with a solution, i tell you all to do it, why aren't you all doing it? Why? Do you all hate me so much that you just have to do the opposite? You think it's so easy being the pp? Why don't you all be the pp then?

(PS/ today, i was talking to sihui. Guess what she told me? "You have no right to pump me." And so, i asked, you sure i can't? And i asked again, who has the right? She told me, jingrong. Is this really true? I'm just nothing in the section, nothing. I asked her, "who is the sl?" she told me jonard, i asked for the pp, she tell me she doesn't know.)

You know, when fareha feliciatan feliciatoh alif were still here, clarinet section is one of the best section and we're rarely scolded and pointed out by mrchew. Now, what has our section come to? We can never go home one practice without being pointed out. Have you all asked yourselves, why is this so? Do you all really want the section to fall under your hands? Stop being selfish and play can, do you all know how hard it is to keep up to mr chew's standard alone? It's impossible cause he wants 5 people to sound like freaking 10 people. I, alone, cant.

After the seniors stepped down, i ask you all to come back for sections almost everyday. Everyday, i'm given all sorts of excuses. You all are busy, but so am I! But I put aside everything for you guys, yet you all stood me up, again and again. I never had a full sectionals, what is this!? You think you all have the ability to play up to mrchew's standard? No, even myself. So why aren't you all coming back for sectionals when i've already wanted to come and teach you guys?! You guys can't always think " Jiaying will be there to cover for us lah, jiaying will go louder if someone complains lah, jiaying will teach us lah. " STOP BEING SELFISH LAH. Do you know, after every song, i'm left there sweating and fighting for air? Do you all know how freaking hard it is? To keep pushing myself over my limits, time again and again? Why can't you all do that? I've already wanted to teach you all, but ask yourselves, who's going to teach jiaying? You know, when mrchew go bar by bar, that's the only time i learn. Under the eyes of him, and if i made mistakes, i get scolded. I wanted to teach you all nicely, is this how you all repay me? You all know, for all your mistakes, i get blamed? Do you all know for all your actions, im answerable?

Do you all know that before the seniors stepped down, i used to be the jiaying who can't play loud? Now, i think i'm pretty loud. Do you all know that i never know how to count? I have no sense of rhythm. Now, i'm forced to tap my foot very hard and count, play. I get leg cramps you know, ask youselves, HOW MANY OF YOU ACTUALLY TAP YOUR FEET? I can dare say 2-3 of you. When i count out the bars for you, why are you all still late?

What have you all been doing?

That day where i didn't come, what happened? You all think i don't know? Yes, i know, i received sms from all parts of band room. Saying that my section didn't tap their feet, didn't count, didn't this didn't that. Saying that my section can't be heard. I know, i tell you all, i know. Although im sick, i'm constantly worried for you all at home and i can't have a good rest. Can't i even have a proper rest when i'm sick? Reflect lah.

Let me just tell this straight to you, some of you DEPROVED instead of IMPROVING. Why is this so? Do you know how other people look at me? I'm just a so-so player, so it's alright if jiaying is not here. Why the heck do i work my ass off for you guys? Why, im not even appreciated. In the end, i still get scolded, blamed for. Is it worth it? I used to think that yes, i believed in all of you. Now, i think it's not worth it anymore. It's tiring, it's burning me out okay.

When i asked you all not to breathe there, to sustain full value? I EXPECT IT TO BE DONE. I don't just say it for fun. It is because it's a phrase there, and it can't be break. I don't want my words to be fallen on deaf ears again. (but you all STILL breathe there, and NOT sustain full. WHY?!) You all may say you're out of air, SO AM I. But i push myself, why can't you all push yourselves too? Stop being freaking selfish!

You know, i have my limits too..

I need to ask you, if you said you did your best, why is it that you're deproving instead of improving? Why is it that you can't play even the basic bandology? Why is it that you're crying, if you did your best, you'd be like amira, me who didn't cry at all. Cause we know, we did our very best.
She says she often lock herself up in the room to practice.
All of us lock ourselves up in the room. Our family members also says it's noisy. I once heard that a senior locked herself in the cupboard of her room cause her mother was you know.
She say she often can't go out with her friends because she has band.
WE ALL have band, WE ALL have the same schedule. WE ALL can't go out. You think WE ALL don't want to go out, with our friends?
She says her friends always ask her why everytime band.
She says she hopes her friends understand.
Have you ask yourself, why do you need to come back for extra practice, why don't hidayah need to come as often?
She says she don't have time for her brothers and sisters.
You think we have? We come for longer hours than you. We practice longer, and therefore, we have lesser time. What right do you have to complain?
She says she's happier in dance than in band.
Ask yourself, why? Cause you don't open up to people.
She says she wants to come for sectionals, but can't.
Why, once again. Ask yourself.
She says that she prays everynight.
You can't pray that you'll do well without putting in effort, it'll NEVER happen. You can't pray that you'll get 100/100 for amath when you didn't study one bit. It's IMPOSSIBLE. Wake up.

After this, we went back to band.
Mr chew scolded a running passage. 2nds, and 3rds, hello. Jonard, i rest my case he just came back for a few practices, but hello 2nds. MR CHEW ACTUALLY THOUGHT YOU ALL ARE FREAKING SEC1S PLAYING. Wake up already please. It's just a Eflat, even a sec1 know that! DO I HAVE TO TEACH YOU ALL? Mr chew say go louder, i only hear jonard making the effort. HELLO SENIORS, jonard just came back, you can't rely on him. GO LOUDER, and i still see no effort made to go louder. PLEASE LA, i shouted across and still no effort made. What is this? The whole band staring at you and you still make no effort. After that, he went on to the answering phrase, the starting is freaking soft, and the answering phrase is x100 louder. Why, ask yourselves. It's 3 people vs me and amira yet the volume differ so much. And let me just say, why didn't you all tap your feet when you don't know how to play that. If you tap, it'll come to you. Now that jonard went to play 3rd, the 2nds don't seem to exist again, once more. Now, you think, do you have the right to say what you said just now. And mr chew don't blame you all for that, he blames me. Sec1s, when he asked you all to play along, play along. I reminded you all and yet, you all still didn't play along. I can't remind you always, i have to play also. And when im given 1minute to talk to you all, WHY ARE ALL OF YOU DOING YOUR OWN STUFFS? I'M FREAKING SHOUTING MY LUNGS OUT AND YOU ALL TREAT ME LIKE AIR?! I counted the bars to your runs, and you all still cant be heard, late. Seniors, i think, before you all teach your sec1s, get your own stuffs right first. It may be mean, but it'll harm the sec1s instead.

When we're tuning, to jingrong, i didn't say next note. Why did you go to the next note yourself? You not even in tune yet. Like that, might as well don't tune right.

time and time again, i feel like storming away, throwing away the responsiblities i have.
Cause i look back and see, what a section i have.

Like that only got few pathetic people going can, and most of you have the power to decide if you want to go or not. And most of you don't want to. If you all think that you're busy/have no time, then why don't you all think about the seniors who are having their o levels and are making time for US. if u all think its easy to juz organise a bbq lidat, u come and oranise. and u noe how depressing it is whn u cnfrm everything and someone juz came up and say "im not going". when we ask u all to come and see and tell us when are u all free, u all didnt, whn we asked u abt it, u say forgot. erm HELLO! procrastination wont get u anywhere. being the head isnt easy especially whn u are having uncooperative ppl. we didnt even ask u all to come up wif games or anything to ply. u all hav an simple and easy job of juz saying whether are u all coming or not. if u arent, notify us early. juz saying u forgot, we wont forgive u. nxt time pls be cooperative and tell us as early as possible. whn i said tat doesnt mean a week before. and it is a few days after we came up wif the date of the outing. u all can try being in our shoes and u will find out how discouraging it is

(: suxian, tho a baritone saxophonist, still belongs to cl section. still one of us, still share our bond, still loves and is loved by us. alif, the joker always tries to cheer the section up or make us laugh. toh the kingkong always shares what she has with everyone (knowledge and everything) and alw makes us laugh at her weird looks. fareha, the forever positive side of the section brings us more and more together. as for me, i rly love the sec 3s alotalot. let this bond stay for eternity. :)
